NSU President Hanbury announces resignation

George Hanbury, NSU president and chief executive officer, just announced he will resign from those roles effective Jan. 1, 2025. With his departure as NSU president, he will transition into the chancellor of the new Institute of Citizenship, Leadership, and International Affairs.

“At NSU, my job became my passion, and I therefore felt like I hadn’t worked a day at all. I have thoroughly loved what I was doing and can sincerely say that I have loved being your President,” Hanbury wrote in an official statement.

With this announcement, Harry Moon, NSU executive vice president and chief operating officer, became president-elect. Moon will officially become president of NSU on Jan. 1, 2025.

“I strongly endorse Dr. Moon’s selection by the Board as NSU’s seventh President in order to continue the University’s measured progress toward preeminence, and will be working with him over the next 15 months to impart the knowledge I have gained, and to seamlessly transition leadership responsibilities,” Hanbury wrote.
